  • Ultra High Pressure (UHP) Jetting Operatives

    The ASCO and John Lawrie joint venture, NORM Solutions, is the leading provider of Naturally Occurring Radioactive Materials (NORM) receipt and decontamination services in the UK, handling 40% of all contaminated materials originating from the oil and gas industry. This role, reporting to the Operations Team Leader, will be required to dismantle and clean NORM contaminated equipment, operating in both onshore and offshore locations. Applications are invited from candidates certified as a Radiation Protection Supervisor who possess practical experience gained within both onshore and offshore environments. Responsibilities include those outlined below.

  • Ultra High Pressure Jetting of offshore equipment up to 40,000 psi and operating the automated tubular process.
  • Forklift operations; loading, unloading and transferring equipment, as set out in legislative and Company policy.
  • Strip down and size reduction duties, including valves and other oil and gas equipment.
  • Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) duties, ensuring work involvling ionising radiation is conducted strictly in accordance with relevant procedures and regulations.
  • Maintaining an accurate, auditable record of activities, both documented and computerised.
  • Ensuring equipment is always maintained to be fully functional and safe to operate, to be utilised as appropriate to the task and in line with operating and HSE standards.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of housekeeping at all times within operating areas.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships througuot the business, promoting a positive image of the Company through first class service delivery and Customer engagement.
  • Participating in the continuous improvement of customer service, processes and cost effectiveness.
  • Continuously promoting a pro-active HSEQ culture, ensuring participation and compliance.
  • Proactively assisting colleagues and undertaking adhoc duties as required, including unloading equipment from containers, conducting preventative maintenance, daily equipment checks, etc.
  • Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role conducting both onshore and offshore.
  • Oil Spill Response and Permit to Work Training. Manual Handling Awareness.
  • Mobility to travel to various onshore and offshore locations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and in writing.
  • Numeric and computer literate across the Microsoft Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent planning & organising skills.
  • Ability to work stand-alone while a positive contributor to the wider team.
  • Accustomed to working effectively in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing workloads and priorities, where high standards are not compromised under pressure.
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Counterbalance Forklift (16 Tonnes)
  • UHP and RPS Certification
  • Abrasive Wheels / HAV Certification
  • Minimum Industry Safety Training Standard (MIST)
  • Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET)
  • Desirable Qualifications
  • Multi-directional Forklift (5 Tonnes)
